No More Boozy Faux-Pas!
Whenever we go to a party, we lose our wine glass from the get-go and then just nonchalantly help ourselves to the nearest one. Naturally this doesn't always go over so well. But now there's ClingyThingys; clever little, um clingy thingys that stick to your glass and make it your own. (And they make a brilliant hostess gift and are great for eveyday use around the house. Cut down on washing extra glasses and have more time for fun!)

ClingyThingy Labels, created in Portland, were just included in the Oscar gift bags so all the celebs are wielding them now!

Distinguishing Drinks
One of the Imbibe staffers is hosting a baby shower this weekend. Since the baby's due date is Cinco de Mayo, the menu is Mexican-inspired, tequila is the spirit of choice, and the Mayahuel from our current issue is the signature cocktail. Of course, there will be extra grapefruit juice on hand for the guest of honor so she can enjoy alcohol-free drinks, but it may be hard for her to distinguish her glass....
Enter:
Clingy Thingy Labels. These handy drink labels are an evolved version of those wine glass charms that account for glasses without stems. The easy-to-remove labels have fun icons, and they work well for all occasions when drinks enter the equation. They come 48 to a pack in two colors and cost about $7.95 plus S&H.

Clingy Thingy drink decals

Here's another fun way to adorn your drinks...Clingy Thingy Labels is a woman-owned company that just recently launched with the motto of "making everyday things easier" - which is exactly what they accomplish with their new drink and wine labels. The drink labels are great for identifying glasses - pick your favorite little illustration to stick on your glass and keep fellow party goers from accidentally swiping your drink! And the wine labels are a smart solution for multiple glass wine tastings or parties where several different types of wine are available - simply match the number on your glass to the number on the bottle from whence in came! {$7.95 for a pack of 48 labels}

What: Labels?the good kind -- from Clingy Thingy Labels.

Why: The last time we hosted a small party, we had about 30 people.  Somehow we managed to go through more than 50 glasses. Admittedly, we contributed to this.it's just so difficult to keep track of your drink when you're trying to be the life of the party!

For our next event, we're pulling out our ClingyThingy Labels, which were recently placed in Entertainment Weekly's Oscar VIP Gift Bags. These labels allow you to place residue free stickers with such variable designs as a bicycle, four-leaf clover, Eiffel Tower, feather or a cup of coffee anywhere on the dry surface of a glass. Then, at the end of the night, simply peel them off and put the glass in the dishwasher. No more misplaced glasses or jangling wine identifiers to snag on your sweater -- just simple stickers to help you be the life of the party.

Hosting a wine-tasting gig? It's a snap with the numbered wine ClingyThingy labels. Place one sticker on the bottom of the bottle and one on the glass and you'll be able to keep track of what you're drinking.even after a taste or two.

Price: $7.95

Yours, Mine, or His?!

Clingy Thingy LabelsI can't tell you how many times I have had company over and I have had to ask, "Is this drink yours or is it mine? Multiply that x10 and what you end up with is a bunch of half-filled glasses at the end of the night. Thanks to the people at Clingy Thingy Labels this drink abuse affliction has been stomped out! Why hadn't I thought of this? Each label has has a neat design and it comes in two colors. I call the Palm tree!!!!!!!!

post #2484  Clingy Thingy Labels  Never lose track of your drink at a party again...

Why Didn't I Think of That? Clingy Thingy Drink Labels

By Becky Moore

If you've ever party-hopped, you can confirm that a party never starts and ends with the same glass in hand. Blame it on a potty break or blame it on Michael Jackson (what? Thriller is very danceable), but returning to seven half-full martinis means its time to find a new one. And if you've ever been a host to such an event, you can confirm that most people do it more than twice ? proven when you run out of actual glasses and end up with piles of keg cups.
That's why local entrepreneur Mollie Suits created Clingy Thingy drink labels, a fool proof way to distinguish which glass is whose (kind-of like the wine charms that never really "stuck"), meaning far less dish washing and less liquid abuse (read: less waste). With quarter-sized labels that are marked with fun icons like a bicycle, a stiletto, a sailboat and an Eiffel tower, Clingy Thingy drink labels mean party hoppers won't have to shamefully pull another tumbler from the rack.
And for smart wine tasting, Mollie created numbered wine labels to keep the guesswork where it counts. Mark the bottles' bottoms and tag different glasses with the same number so there's no more "uh, which one did we sample?" and more "uh, I think I'll pass on that one."
Sure, the idea seems logical, but when Mollie went searching the shelves, she found her idea wasn't on the market. So she decided to change that.
"I wanted something reusable ? something that not only minimized waste, but also got people talking," she said. As it turns out, Clingy Thingys had no trouble attracted buzz. All it took was placement in the VIP Oscar gift bags from Entertainment Weekly. The invite came during Mollie's first week of launch, so you can imagine why she fell off her chair and dropped the phone. It was exciting times.
Since then, she's received a lot of praise for her product. But what makes her smile most are the uses suggested by others, as seen in the testimonials on her website. While one person uses them to distinguish his clients on record, another uses them as inspiration for the day, and apparently, they make great baby labels for triplets.
During development, Mollie decided she needed some interesting icons to catch people's attention. Mission accomplished. Whether someone chooses the coffee cup, the watering can or the c-clamp, you'll want to find out what it says about that person. Used at company get-to-know-yous and socialite happy hours, they make great conversation starters and even result in "how to get the girl" happy endings.
Now sold at nearly 20 stores in Portland ? like The Arrangement, Butterscotch, In Good Taste and E & R Wine Shop ? and nationwide, Clingy Thingys are getting, well, clingy. Portland is picking it up for many reasons, according to Mollie. Perhaps it's because there are a lot of entrepreneurs here, perhaps it's because we love to entertain. "Either way, Portlanders love to support local, and we are a community who wants to reuse and cut down on waste," she explains. Whether in the form of water, plastic cups or really good wine, waste is one thing we can all agree to do without.
